Moodle Meets are free, one week online courses, or "Professional Learning Potlucks", led by experienced educators. Moodle Meet topics focus on the resources and skills needed to use technology in the classroom as well as on the skills needed to teach and learn in a virtual environment.

The world in your pocket. Advances in mobile technologies are showing enormous untapped educational potential. Mobile learning, or mLearning, is learning accomplished with the use of small, portable computing devices including smartphones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), tablets, itouches, ipads and similar handheld devices. This course will explore initiatives, projects and a myriad of ways to use handheld devices in classroom. It also provides examples of well-designed mobile learning content and provides information on best practices for creating your own mobile learning objects.

Authentic Global Collaboration

It has never been easier to connect classrooms around the world, and lots of teachers are doing it in different ways. In this course we will explore how you can turn a connection into a global learning experience for your students. We will look at ways to make this experience authentic and real, and discuss what it takes to collaborate with other classes in other countries. Ultimately our contention is that authentic global collaboration has less to do with the tools and more to do with approaches to teaching and learning.

Creating and Integrating SCORM into MOODLE

This workshop introduces participants to the SCORM standard. We will begin with an overview of SCORM, including its definition and history. SCORM will be demonstrated by participants using learning objects packaged in SCORM and integrated within a MOODLE course. We will try out different learning objects developed both with commercially available software (Articulate Engage and Quizmaker) and free development tools. Participants will follow a step-by-step tutorial to develop a simple course unit using freely available software and export this to a SCORM package.
